The 40 Year Ride . . . |
Dear Valued Customer, The year was 1958. Mrs. Garrison, her 2 sons and 1 daughter traveled to Tampa by car with $450.00 and a suitcase full of hopes and dreams. Their only link to Tampa was Mrs. Garrison's sister, a seamstress who was sewing draperies in a small drapery shop on Nebraska Ave. Mrs. Garrison, without any sewing experience, began to work alongside her sister. After a short time, she became an excellent seamstress with a keen eye for detail and design. Through the years, her work began to speak for itself. She eventually bought the building and property at 10114 N. Nebraska Ave. and proudly opened Garrison's. To this day, it is not unusual to visit a Tampa home that still calls Garrison's for their decorating needs just as they had 40 years ago. In 1968, her youngest son, Mitch, joined the company as an installer. What was once only a 500-sq. ft. workroom grew into a 3,000-sq. ft. showroom. Mitch has taken the company on a vast journey on Nebraska Ave. He has seen many changes on that particular Ave., although he has never changed his road. His road is paved with integrity, honesty, and a real sense of family. Word of mouth has always been his best advertisement. All those hours of door to door sales eventually paid off for Mitch and his firm. Most of his clients include referrals from highly pleased former and continuous customers. Along with being the catalyst of the business, Mitch has kept his skills tuned by many organizations and by teaching Interior Design at H.C.C. for 5 years. He has been an inspector for "The Parade of Homes" and a member of the HomeBuilders Assoc. Although he has been on Nebraska Ave. all these years, his work and reputation has taken him and his staff to numerous other destinations. They have decorated homes and businesses from the Cayman Islands to Seattle, WA. About 1 year ago, he finished decorating homes in Atlanta's Buckhead area and Charlotte, NC. Garrison's has not only done business with many commercial businesses, he also worked in elite neighborhoods like Avila, West Chase, and New Tampa in the Tampa Bay area as well as designed comforting rooms, solarians and lobbies for a vast number of nursing homes. They have re-done various upscale auto dealerships from V.W. to Mercedes Benz, Holiday Inn and fine restaurants. After the 40-year ride on Nebraska , Mitch Garrison has decided to better serve Tampa Bay. The showroom has re-located to his home at 15906 Dover Cliff Dr. Garrison's will still give you the same customer service that we've provided for the last 40 years. You can still reach Mitch Garrison at the same phone #(813) 971-0301 or by cell #(813) 263-6616. Thank you, Mitch Garrison |
